From entertainment to learning aids that engage the children’s interest, our activities can help you to teach Literacy and other National Curriculum subjects in a creative and fun way.

With degree level training in Arts Education from the prestigious Bretton Hall, we provide tailor-made entertainment and workshop packages covering whatever subjects are most useful to you.  We are able to cater for any age group or ability level and have worked with children with physical and learning disabilities on numerous occasions.

The workshop packages above are just examples of what we can provide, but we can happily work with whatever topics and learning objectives you want.

Further examples of things we can cover include the Egyptians for History & Light and Shadow for Science.

Shadow Puppets are a Rough Magic Theatre speciality.  A workshop can include pupils learning about the origins of Shadow Puppetry, making their own puppets and performing their own shows. In addition you could enjoy either our classroom sized “Interrupted Wedding”(see picture right) Shadow Show, lasting 15min or if your school hall is large enough, why not book our hour long puppet extravanza “Alice in Wonderland” which contains all kinds of puppets and can entertain many classes at once.

Long Term Projects -

Children benefit from making and performing puppet theatre on a huge number of different levels.  It particularly boosts confidence to perform high quality work in front of Parents, family and friends.  Children learn social, practical and academic skills all as part of a fun project.

Why not make your school show this year a Puppet Show? Children of all ages can contribute at their own level and you will see normally shy children blossom as they perform with their own puppet.

If funding is a problem, please let us know and we can work together to apply for Arts Council England or other funding so that your school can have the benefit of a long term high quality project. Why not speak to schools in your cluster group and make a joint funding application?
